Chloe, a midwife from Integrative Midwifery, provides support to a pregnant woman, during their prenatal session.

Prenatal Care

I provide comprehensive prenatal care that includes ten to fifteen visits during pregnancy. Four or five of these prenatal visits are held in your home and the rest are facilitated in my office in LIC. These visits cover important medical bases, including labwork, sonogram referrals, nutritional counseling, mental health awareness, and blood pressure monitoring. The most important part of our prenatal care is the relationship we build together. I want to get to know you as a person, relate with your family, and understand what it feels like for you to be pregnant. From this foundation, we prepare for birth and parenthood.

Postpartum Care

Many families arrive in the postpartum period to discover that this is when the real work begins. In the days that follow your baby’s birth, your baby will teach you what you need to parent them. You will meet your baby’s needs by taking care of yourself. For some, this learning curve flows smoothly, with only general questions. For others, it is a steep climb that is embarked upon from a place of depletion. My postpartum care includes two home visits during the first week of your baby’s life. These visits include comprehensive lactation support, physical assessment of you and your baby, and the opportunity to examine your emotional adjustment to parenting. At three weeks postpartum, I offer a telehealth visit that is designed to comprehensively address your mental health, along with your physical recovery from birth. We have our final six-week postpartum visit in the office in which we wrap up care. This visit can include GYN needs, such as PAP exams and birth control.

Birth

Your birth belongs to you. You can birth anywhere in your apartment: the bed, the couch, the doorway, the birth pool, whatever works. You can catch your own baby or your baby can be born into the loving hands of your partner - or I can catch your baby if that is best for you.
